Activity Log: A Live Feed of Every Availability Update
WhosFreeWhen Pro adds an Activity Log to the Availability tab: a reverse-chronological feed showing exactly who marked what, and when, so you never have to guess what changed.
Bob marked Tue Jul 14 available
2m agoPriya marked Wed Jul 15 unavailable
1h agoTom marked Thu Jul 16 maybe
3h agoThe Matrix and List views on the Availability tab are great for seeing where a group stands right now. But they do not answer a different, equally common question: what just changed? If three people update their availability while you are mid-conversation with the group, scanning a grid for the difference is slow and easy to get wrong.
The Activity Log solves that. It is a WhosFreeWhen Pro feature.
What the Activity Log Does
The Activity Log is a third view on the Availability tab, alongside Matrix and List. Instead of organising by date or by participant, it organises by time: every individual availability change, newest first.
Each line reads plainly: who made the change, which date they marked, what they set it to (available, unavailable, or maybe), and how long ago it happened. Updates from a minute ago say "just now"; older ones show a relative time like "2h ago" or "3 days ago" so you can judge freshness at a glance.
The feed is scrollable and loads more entries as you reach the bottom, so long-running events with dozens of responses stay easy to scan rather than turning into one giant page.
Why This Matters
You stop re-reading the whole grid. Once a group has a few responses in, spotting a single new change inside a full Matrix view means comparing it against what you remember from last time. The Activity Log just shows you the change directly.
It answers "did they see it?" without asking. If you nudge someone and want to check whether they have responded yet, the log tells you immediately, along with exactly what they marked and when.
It is useful mid-conversation. Group chats about scheduling often happen in real time. Someone says "just marked myself free for Saturday", and the Activity Log lets you confirm that instantly instead of hunting for it in a table.
How to Use It
Open any event you have created on WhosFreeWhen, go to the Availability tab, and switch the view toggle to Activity. The feed loads with the most recent updates at the top; scroll down for older ones.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Activity Log include my own updates? Yes. It is a full history of every change, including your own, so it can double as a record of what you have submitted.
How far back does it go? All the way to the first response on the event. Scroll (or keep loading more) to reach older entries.
Does it update live while I am looking at it? The feed reflects the latest data each time the Availability tab loads. Refresh to pull in changes made after you opened it.
Is the Activity Log available on the free plan? No. Like the other advanced availability widgets (Insights, Group Health, and the rest), the Activity Log is a WhosFreeWhen Pro feature. Free-tier users can see a blurred preview of it on the Availability tab.
See What Changed, Not Just What Is
Matrix and List tell you where things stand. The Activity Log tells you how they got there. Together they mean you are never stuck re-scanning a grid to figure out who just responded.
